Horsham St. Faith, England, 1944
Horsham St. Faith was the HQ of the 96th Bomb Wing with its very desirable operating and living quarters. Originally, it was a RAF base and had permanent brick buildings for dining and living compared to the Quonset Huts (metal fabrication) and pot belly stoves at the other airfields.

I shared a very nice room with my co-pilot Joe Zanella and my other officers, Joe Feldman and Henry Sonnenfeld, shared another room. The enlisted men of the crew bunked in a dormitory style building with other enlisted men.
I was fortunate to have been stationed here because when I returned 50 years later the airfield and some buildings remained standing. It was so easy to reminisce and share this place with my wife Hannah.
